Polarizer for wide angle lens

I would like to get a polarizer for my wide angle lens. (tamron 11-18) However, I am not sure if I should get one of cheap normal one or the "super thin" one. Does it realy make a difference?

A cheap one isn't multicoated and will have flare problems (as well as allowing less light to go through). The super exensive thin one is useful with wide angle if that lens has a problem with vignetting (try putting a normal width filter on there and see if it shadows on the edges). My recommendation would be to get a mid-level polarizer (Hoya HMC for example) as it's got nice coating but isn't super thin (super thin ones don't have inner threads so no threaded lens caps).

That's a really nice filter, only you can't use your normal lens cap with it (hence the included push on caps which fall off easily). It doesn't have front threads so make sure that's not an issue for you.

What about B+W Polarizer filters. I heard they were better.

I don't know about them...I love my Hoya. I'm just saying if you don't need the super thin you can just pick up a Hoya HMC.

B&W make excellent filters. Whenever I buy a new lens I always buy a B&W UV Haze filter to put on it for protection. Hoya also makes excellent filters, so in either case you can't go wrong.
