iPhone Police Now Can Switch off iPhone Camera and Wi-Fi

They MIGHT be able to disrupt wifi/3G within a certain range of them, but no way they could prevent the camera from working.
 
I listened to a radio program about this. They don't have this ability yet but apple has developed it and has patented it....it's only a matter of time.

What it does is send a cell signal to your phone to turn off certain features or turn some features on. All that is need is for apple to make this possible at a the software level for the phone and give law enforcement the tools to implement the signal.

Crazy stuff here.

Yeah, I remember reading this in some forum too. They said it was for places like cinema, etc.
 
LE in general can do many things with phones that we have no idea of tech that exists that makes it possible. Anyway, carriers give the feds full access to their networks and databases to copy and store massive amounts of data on everyone.
They don't let their secrets out until now that we had a bunch of whistleblowers.
They use many high tech tools to spy on anyone they want and in any form of communication available. Hope you really don't believe that privacy exists in this day and age.

I'm not sure about the patented part of this history.

However LEOs and Emergency responders had always had access to small range jammer, this allow them to have clear path of the airways during emergencies. They can also sent an emergency signals to carriers, so that the tower block (temporarily) any device that is not an emergency device. As par of the Spectrum licenses than the carrier paid, they had to offer this type of service.

Not really sure about the disabling the camera part.
