Ok, let's take a poll and find out what percentage of people who are on this forum who got the new iMac have the Yellow Tinge issue. There seem to be a lot of complaints about it, but I've seen a few people say theirs is perfect. I'm curious what the ratio is.

If you have one and just haven't noticed anything yet, follow tapplox's test here before you vote.

...and vote on his thread too, if you like. This isn't meant to be a "rival poll", just another set of data.

Seems fine... 1 dodgy pixel and has some issues when it wakes from sleep when there's a keychain request, but nothing that would stop me from saying perfect :)

Do you have the option for "require password on wake" set in your system preferences?

Good results so far, keep 'em comin'!

Apart from the yellow tinge, my iMac i5 is perfect. And the yellow tinge is inconspicuous, so I'm in doubt if I should exchange my iMac.

knewsom,

There are already several threads on this subject, more specifically, an excellent poll by tapplox. Respectfully, can we try to keep all of the data in the threads that already exist?

Bryan,

I saw the other poll in the other thread, the reason I made this one was A, to account for OTHER defects in addition to the tinge, and B, to try and make one that may be less weighted towards people who HAVE the tinge, since his is located in a thread about testing for it - which theoretically may attract more readers who suspect their iMacs of having it, and therefore more likely do. Perhaps on second though, I need to change the actual title of this thread to further balance it though.

If you and anyone else still thinks I should remove this thread, I will, but I think my reasoning is sound.

Your poll is flawed. I have yellow tinge AND two dead pixels....what option should I choose in the poll?

Also (although I've said this elsewhere), my yellow tinge on my replacement i5 is NOT located at the bottom of the screen. It's a vertical band running down the second quarter of the screen (which is worse IMO). :(

I wish there was an option to allow for selecting multiple answers.

Send yours back! I totally wouldn't settle for dead pixels and a vertical band of yellow, eugh!

Oh, I will. Just haven't had the opportunity yet ('rents in town for the weekend). Also, I figure the longer I wait the better the chances for a manufacturing fix or something. I was told (but need to confirm again) that in-store purchases from Black Friday through Xmas will have extended return period to Jan 10th. I can live with the problems until then...

I was thinking you could just add an option to the poll for yellowing AND other problems...but whatever.

If I could edit the poll at this point, I would... if your screen is yellow AND you had other defects, I guess just select the top one.
