*hoping that admins won't have a problem with this poll being in this forum instead of the general discussion one, as we are looking for feedback from developers* PS - i can't create a poll, is it because this is my first post?

For a 4th year entrepreneurship class study...

Poll is located at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5JSKLDN

If you were a smalltime mobile app developer, would you be interested in a service that allowed you to port your application to another platform (one or more of apple/android/blackberry/WM/PalmOS) without you requiring more resources, tools and knowledge, to generate more revenue?

If yes please select the option that states which pricing plan you prefer.

Poll is also located at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5JSKLDN

I'm not sure how to answer on the poll, since I don't really believe such a tool is possible (assuming you're talking about an automated service). Each platform has its own UI guidelines, conventions, and ways of doing things, so a port requires rethinking the user experience of your app to make it fit the new platform.

*bump one last time*

need to present results today.

thanks folks.

to respond: it wouldn't be a simple automatic process where a piece of softwares takes in an input and spits out the output. it would be a team of developers carrying that process through to completion.

I wouldn't go for something like that because it would suck, inherently. UIs need to be redesigned, not just recoded, for new devices with different form factors and interface guidelines. Also not a fan of giving up my entire app's source to some team of people I don't control.
