I’m curious how people feel on this topic.

It seems to be old horse with these yearly updates.

I honestly feel like it’s hurting development and curbing creativity.

OEM’s have been focusing on small things in order to keep up with their competitors. This draws time and resources away from refinement.

What do you think??

Apple continue yearly updates?

Apple take a bold step to ship when they feel they have a worthwhile device? (Pricing more than likely being higher)

Let’s see these results!

No one is forcing the consumers to upgrade their phones. You can upgrade whenever you feel it's worthwhile.

This is very true.

I wonder what the market would look like if Apple held their devices, engineered the hell out of them and just dropped the bomb.

Would be interesting to see if secrets, development and overall quality of release would improve. Conversely, it may also show if Apple can think its own way. Given time, it may solve some of this “Apple cant innovate” if refinement time is not used correctly.

Interesting proposition.

As a business model they would never do that especially under Cook. Would love to see AAPL stock price when they announce that they’ll only release new phones when they’re good and ready, haha.
