Poll: Is surfing with iPad faster or slower than on a desktop/laptop?

I was actually surprised to see that surfing and even typing is much much better on iPad than on MacBook. Pages seem to render much faster on iPad.

The only thing i wish was a set of cursor keys on the popup keyboard which would make simple edits much easier. Typing is a breeze though in landscape mode.

Dunno about a Macbook, but it's definitely slower than my Mac Pro, and no noticeable difference from my MBP...

The hidef YouTube videos load instantly on the ipad with no buffering, but take like 10 minutes to load on my mbp. Same network too

Is there a way to just see HD videos in a list on iPad YouTube app?

I would say that page loading times are about the same as my MacBook. But productivity wise, it's slower. I think apple needs to implement a way to switch between pages. Tabbed browsing would be an obvious addition. You could also pinch your current window down (like you do in photos to close an album) and all your open windows would come to view.

I use the open in new page feature to open multiple "tabs". This makes things pretty quick and may be what you are looking for.
