poor graphics

hello,

i have a MAC mini connected to a samsung S22D300 through HDMI.

as you can see in the screenshot, my graphics quality are very poor. I had a very old windows pc with a basic lg monitor, and everything was sharp.

What can i do to fix this? it's hardware problem? This monitor is full hd.

Looks fine at this end, but if the problem is one of perceived 'blurriness' then I think it probably should look fine, ie your screen capture is grabbing the pixels as they *should* look, rather than taking an image of what you're actually seeing.

Any mini with an HDMI port is capable of driving a 1920x1080 display.

Have you been able to try pairing the mini with another monitor, or the Samsung with another computer?

Is the resolution set to 'Best for display' in System Preferences > Displays?

Does the Samsung menu have an option for setting the resolution, and has that drifted off from 1920x1080 native?

You don't say which mini you have, but the 2012 in particular had an issue with HDMI display which was addressed by a firmware update. There were HDMI-related grumblings about the 2011 model too, to the extent that when I bought my 2011 I got a monitor with Mini DisplayPort connectivity.

it's a mini (late 2014) i7.

in display preferences i have "best for display" set.

i haven't tried with other monitor, because my old one isn't HDMI..

i saw the picture i uploaded through my iphone6 now, and it's good. So, the problem is with my monitor, right? :/

In samsung monitor settings, i adjusted everything to the best but seems that isn't enough.

Should i change my monitor?

First, I'm sorry I don't have a more detailed fix for you, or a link to "point the way", but....

There seems to be an issue with some displays when connected to the Mac via HDMI in which the Mac "recognizes" the display AS A TV, and NOT "as a computer monitor".

There is a workaround for this, that isn't very hard, and you can find it if you search for it.

I have the details -somewhere-, but I'm pressed for time this morning and can't find them.

I sense you're having problems because of the above -- that is, the Mac "thinks" your display is a "tv", and not a "monitor".

I suggest you pursue a solution based on the above information.

If nothing else is working:
The display you have -- what kind of INPUTS does it have?
I did a quick search and it looks like it has only HDMI and VGA, is this correct?

One thing to try:
A minidisplayport (mac end) to VGA (monitor end) connecting cable.
How does that look?

Sometimes there can be issues with overscan when using HDMI (if OSX basically thinks your monitor is a TV). The other thing to try is to get an MDP to VGA dongle and see if that fixes the problem. Or you can try to use the HDMI -> DVI and then a DVI -> HDMI. This seems to force OSX to think it is a monitor rather than a TV since it is going thru "DVI"...
