Today I went and payed my bills. On my way home I passed the local Mac store. When I had passed I found myself holding two items:

An exhausted credit card
And an 24" iMac top spec... 3.06, GeForce, the business...

It was a complete impulse buy.

As I glared into the local sailor tattoo shop, I found that the reflection of my forehead spelled 'poor impulse control' in reverse. (Nah!)

As I came home I turned off the giga-watt hair dryer that says 'I'm a PC!', and looked at my pretty, pretty pretty magic 24" mirror. And yes, it may be a mirror, but it's good value at the going rate of mirrors these days.

The looks are stunning. The feel even better. I was one of the guys thinking that the white iMac was better looking. It is soo not!

Mac OS always made me happy, yet for my 26 years of computer ownership, this is my first Mac. I've been contemplating a Mac ever since the first betas of Vista aka Longhorn. Before that my 3D work didn't allow for a Mac, less it be a gazillion dollar quadro-quadro PowerMac with overpriced gfx-boards. Nevermind.

Today I got my first mac, and I want to grab the phone, call Balmer-boy, and scream 'you phuked up sonny-boy, and now I too have got a mac. You may own half of apple, but it's run by a raving lunatic - completely out of control. hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi!!!'

I went on about BD support and surround sound in this forum - Today that stuff doesn't seem important. I'm on OSX. I love it. It puts a smile on my face. It was worth every penny and then some. And I got a mirror for free. What a bargain! :apple:

We all suffer from this. I wish there was a support group for us :)

Congrats on your new purchase!!

So I gather. But a twelve steps to unhappiness? Nah!

Thank you mate - I don't think I can sleep tonight!

I unlike you was very sensible I saved for ages then after that waited for the new models to come out so I was getting the best bang for my buck (Or pound since I'm British.) But you know what I almost wish that I'd just put it on my credit card ages before I actually did buy it. Ok so i haven't had to go into debt but I could have had this baby or at least the 2.8Ghz version ages ago. Oh well I'm happy now with my guilt free purchase.

i did that with my Macbook and eMac, more the eMac because i "needed" to have the Macbook :p otherwise i desided my iMac g3 died and i bought a eMac :D

Read my signature and tell me about it. Today, I came home with a Mac Pro. I think those sales people didn't think I was serious when I walked in and told them I wanted a Mac Pro and I pulled out my card to pay for it. I also think the guy didn't think my card would cover the cost. They even had their business manager come over and ask me if I was buying it for my business. When I told him it was for personal use, he then went on about Apple Care which I didn't buy yet. It was a good day.

I'm off to spend some more, gotta pick up my two 1TB hard drives from the store that I ordered this morning knowing my shiney :apple: was coming home with me. :D There are only two current Mac computers that I don't own one of.

Congratulations on your impulse! I believe it is an addiction. Something they put in the advertising, haha.

That's how I acquired my first 24" iMac - impulse. It's a sad thing, and brings upon much debt, but oh how you receive such a precious reward. :)

LOL! You got me licked in the impulsive spending department. My brain has been rumbling 'MAC!' for years and I haven't acted on the impulse. I have a good €100,000 on my account, and still I have a hard time justifying a computer budget. I know, I'm not worthy the tatoo in my forehead :D

Congrats on your new purchase! You probably deserve it :p

Two time impulse control failure....

I bought the first 24 in iMac in the 2.4 ghz model the week they came out. Then I saw the add on the mac website for the 3.08 and well I have two now :):apple:
