Hello.. I am new to the forum and need some help with my AppleTV2. Whenever I rent HD movies from Apple or watch movies on my MobileMe account I get very choppy performance with AppleTV repetitively stopping to load the movies. It is getting very annoying. I upgraded my home network with the cisco e3000 wireless router with the appleTV the only devise on the WirelessN 5GZ network. I also upgraded my cable connection to 5Mbs upload and 30Mbs download. I have tested the wireless connection and I typically get 18Mbs ~ 25Mbs download rates form the same location that the AppleTV is located.

has anyone else experienced this poor performance issue and if so have you been able to get it working?

Thanks

I had problems with choppy playback, I fixed it by using a wired connection. I also had a strong wireless N connection, just seemed to have intermittent problems especially on HD movies.

I was hoping to avoid having to run a wire.. Whats weird is if I put the movie into I tunes and then play the movie from there with both the AppleTV and the computer with Itunes on the same wireless network it works fine. Movies from Netflix also work fine as well.

yeah i dont have one problem...last night i watched Inception never once was it choppy or had to wait for download...

very impressed with this device...just a side note mine is wired directly to the router...

Looks like I will have hard wire it.. Can't seem to be able to use HD movies or Mobileme. Everything else works fine over wireless.

Weird thing is if I download a HD movie to my imac and then stream it to the appltv it works fine. Why would that happen?
