A couple weeks ago, I tried to do a clean reinstall of Tiger on my MBP, but my backup DVDs for it were both disc 2s. I didn't get disc 1. I called Apple, and after 50 minutes on the phone, they said they were going to send me the correct DVDs (after the agent initially told me there would be a charge for it, and after she had to get authorization to change the price to zero).

That was September 5th. They haven't arrived here, and I found out today that they were never sent at all. The agent today had a moderately heavy accent, and I had a hard time understanding her (of course, every other sentence started out with "basically"). I asked her several times to please explain why they were never sent (even though the system listed them as sent several days ago when I called about them), and about all I could manage to understand was that they were allegedly waiting for me to call them back about it, or something strange like that (because I had to go, which I don't remember being the case at all on that first call).

Bottom line is that I haven't been able to do a reinstall, and my own backups are now bordering on being obsolete. I'm pretty displeased about it, and I'm not sure what I could have done differently. I've got an appointment at one of the apple stores here for this evening, where I hope they'll do a reinstall for me, but it's a bit of a trek, and a hassle.

While I agree that they should have gotten it right the first time they seem to always come through in the end. Stay on their case and I'm sure you will have a proper resolution on this issue.
