I've been having all kinds of trouble trying to setup a pop account (Japanese provider if that matters) in both Mac's native MAIL and Microsoft's Outlook. The problem is that I can receive mail but not send. So, a smtp problem. However, after consulting back and forth with techs from both sides of the hedge I'm still unable. I'm told by my Japanese provider that my settings must include the following:
(POP)
uncheck automatic control to connection setting (sorry bad English maybe)
uncheck TLS/SS
port 110
[APOP (Authenticated POP)]

(SMTP)
uncheck automatic control to connection setting
uncheck TLS/SSL
port 587
verification [MD5 challenge応答 reply(response]

Does anybody know of an email software that would allow for such settings?

Thank you in advance

[doublepost=1523962736][/doublepost] Airmail will do this in IOS. There is a Mac Airmail as well. I don't use it but it might work for you.

Thank you. Funny thing is that I didn’t have any trouble getting the account using these requirements on a clean install on MacBook Pro. Just my “ Mail” on my own Mac reinstalled from a time machine backup. Also no problem with iPad native mail app. Will give Mac Airmail a try. Once again, thank you.
