iPhone Pop Up messages alert box !

I’ve noticed something with my iOS 12. That while you’re doing something on your iPhone or maybe surfing the web, and you get an iMessage or any other alert, you don’t get the pop up box with the view or ignore option. I’ve played around with the notifications settings, and still nothing. Anyone having the same issues ?? Thanks !

iOS hasn't had pop-up alerts for apps for quite a few years now. That basically got changed to banner alerts that appear at the top of the screen. (Unless I'm misreading this and it's about something else.)
