is it normal to get pop-ups on a MacBook, i'm kinda concerened, is it because i'm using LimeWire, i though this stuff didn't happen on Macs...

When you're browsing, its normal. Use Firefox - less pop-ups. I highly doubt that you have the first OSX virus, which would be if you get pop-ups without apps open.

thanks, yea i noticed they only come up when i'm using safari, so not i shouldn't be worried about using LimeWire

I never got a single popuo in Safari. Just make sure it is set to blocking popups. I don't know anything less than zero.;)

Just press command+k in Safari, and you'll be fine.

In addition to that, make sure that, if you have Flash installed, you have version 9. Version 9 somewhat reduced Flash's complicity in tricky ways of initiating pop-ups that fool pop-up blockers.

Switch from Limewire to acqlite - it accesses the same networks and is much better and more stable.
