iPod Popping iPod open?

There's a dent in the metal casing of my 4th gen iPod. It still works fine, but the dock connector doesn't sit perfectly, and that bothers me. Would popping the iPod open and carefully bending the metal casing back into shape be something I could undertake on my own? How would I go about doing it? What else should I know?

They sell the parts necessary to open up an iPod, have guides with lots of pictures, and sell all the ipod parts.

If you open it up and can't seem to bend it back to the right shape you can always buy a new back off that site.

The 4th generation ipods are really easy to open although it will void your warrantee and could be a bit scary. But i wouldnt waste money on the "tools" needed to open them, i opened mine w/ my school ID (or other similar card-like object). I would still check out some directions just so you know what your doing. And if it turns out that you cant bend it back/make it worse, i think it's easy to replace the backs.
