look up iphone repos on google.
top 10 repos of 2013 is a good google query.
add the ones you want, then use cydia to search through the archives of the repo.
youll need winterboard, the jb application for theming your phone.
it truly is a series of trial and error in finding the themes that do what you want, and work smoothly on ios6.
Ifile is a great tool for search through the phones file structure.
i learned how to theme from taking apart themes and looking at the file structure, and then searching file by file for all the different folders that relate to the UI of the phone. MOST of the ui is built into the filesystem and cannot be edited by hand, and you can find on Macrumors a tutorial of sorts as a reply to a similar question as yours (took me some time to find) that can help you if you have interest in learning how to make custom themes.
actually the way that winterboard works is basically the only way applying a theme can work with the way the iOS is set up to use UIgraphics.
Apple is really intelligent about the way they make animations so smooth and integrated into the iOS and "masking" them is basically the only way to temporarily change them.
Do you know of any other methods? I dont know them all so im always open to learn

They are built into the executable function of the iOS and are "packed" and encrypted, hence why winterboard is LITERALLY your only solution unless you plan on rewriting your entire OS :/
like i was saying, this way of making software is why your iPhone/iPad works so much more smoothly than Android.
Thanks for posting this. For awhile now I've been half-heartedly trying to search for how to make completely transparent icons. One of the last annoying little bits of my ui customization is now complete.
