That didn't take long. Not that we're surprised, or anything. When it comes to new technologies, no one moves faster than the adult entertainment industry (read: porn). And, let's face it, the moment Steve Jobs announced the iPhone 4's FaceTime video chat, pundits were already discussing the potential...sexy applications for such a feature.
I guess that's just the way our brains are programmed, though it certainly doesn't hurt that Jobs has painted himself as a staunch anti-porn crusader since the launch of the iPhone App Store, which has blocked apps over the use of terms like "boobs" and "booty."
Business Insider spotted a listing over at Craigslist's New York site advertising a "iPhone 4 FaceTime Video Sex Line Chat," a mere four days after the launch of the iPhone 4. The ad is actually looking to hire women as sex chatters. Here's a bit of the description:
"Starting an online interactive pornography firm where woman will use the iphone 4 to video chat with potential customers on a pay as you go basis."
The ad, oddly, describes it as an "internship" at a "non-profit." No word on school credits, but the company does promise that, "pay will increase as the business builds." Also, ladies will get an iPhone 4 "to use as personal time when not working."
