iPad Pro Portable external Hard drive - using with IPP 10.5

If I wanted to use the portable external hard drive:

Would that work with the iPAD Pro 10.5? If so, what do I need?

I also have these:

The idea is to transfer between the external HDD and the iPAD, using the app FILES. Do I also need to format this drive in a specific way?

It can't be formatted NTFS - doesn't work with iOS. I no longer have my 10.5 but I used a WD HDD with the camera adapter and attached power supply to it. I used exFAT drives with it.

I suggest a SSD like Samsung T5 or T7. Much quicker than a spinning drive when used with the iPP.

Why do you way that? From their datasheet:

"Reformatting required for other operating systems." There are other issues connecting mass storage to iPads.

Exactly IpadOS can't read NTFS, so you need to make sure it's formatted with a compatible fie system, like exFAT

Yes, these can. They just deliver initially formatted as NTFS (I have several WD 4TB drives).

Ok, now see that you were saying that NTFS isn't supported on iPad, not that the disk can't be formatted as NTFS.
