I've been wanting to get into iPhone development for a while new (I'm a senior Computer Science student) but I don't have and can't afford an intel Mac. (I'm stuck on an old PowerBook G4.) However, I've come up with a potential idea that would allow me to try it out over the summer.
The school has intel Macs available in a lab, but they don't have dev tools installed. I was wondering if it's possible to download and install the SDK to a small portable hard drive and keep all the needed files on there. Then I could just take the drive with me and use the Macs there. It limits when I could do development work, but it would allow me to try it without having to buy another Mac.
Anybody know if this would be possible? I don't know how the SDK installs itself (if it does at all).
