I received the Portenzo Hardbook today and was pleasantly surprised. The fit and finish was nice and the embossing with my name was well done. I was dubious of the adhesive method, and actually tried to cancel, but it was too late. They really need to explain better what they did, as it's really pretty neat. A new device sold by lock-tite is affixed to the inside back and it works very nice - grips the pad like velcro but snaps off with a good tug. Replenished by water to make it sticky - see below. A limited amount of positions with this case but for business, this is a nice case. It sticks fine with my icarbons skin. Sleep/wake works perfect too.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this, I am considering the same case and was interested in the fasteners.

Thinking of ordering one myself...how easy is it to make it stand in landscape mode to watch movies?

Thx for the review. Ingot the bookcase too with intellistand. It's between this one and one from Pad &quill

It looks awesome... Shame it doesn't work well as a stand. The equivalent Dodocase has a clip to keep it standing so was hoping this would have something similar.

the big diff in this case and all the other wood frame cases is just that; the wood frame - this has none - wood frames if traveled with or used extensively, warp or become loose...I have owned several (3 diff mfr's) wood frame cases when I would not listen to others -
bought them for my sales force - 4 months later, got rid of them all - do a search...

If you ordering with the intellistand, it will support itself.

Good to know. I already ordered mine. I may have to return it and get a different configuration based off what you are saying.

I don't want to be an alarmist or seem to have an agenda - my point is IF YOU TRAVEL AND PACK the wood frame cases a lot, they don't hold up. Perfectly fine for a lawyer/professional that keeps his ipad on his desk and never removes it from the frame.....

I went ahead and ordered....wrote to the Portenzo guys and they said it can be made to stand up, and the elastic band can be used to give more stability. Not sure how that works, but looks too good to pass on.

you set the back on the strap - fair at best....

I bought this case and no matter how many times I've tried to "renew" the adhesive, it won't grip the iPad and it slides around. It seems like the foam rings around the adhesive are too elevated to allow the proper contact of the iPad with the sticky pads. Anyone else have this problem? I complained to their customer service and all they want to do is send me another one. I would steer clear of this case.

Really interested in this case for my rMini that is coming in this week.

I'll be putting a BSE skin on my mini so just wondering if the adhesive strips will work with a skin or is there something special about the way they bond to the aluminum of the mini body.

Cheers
