Am I the only one that think Apple should implement a legitimate way to downgrade the iOS on their iDevices? The reason why I really feel this is necessary is because the newer versions may not always work the way we want them to.
Example: I have an old iPod Touch(2nd Gen) and it was so smooth and fast when I first bought it, but over time as new versions of the OS came out it began to really slow down. This bothers me because everything now is so choppy and applications crashes very often(especially Safari). I understand that the iOS is running on legacy hardware but I would like to be given an option to go back to the good days when the ipod ran like lightning speed.
I held back from updating after 3.0 because it was laggy enough as it is. But due to the chances in life, the iPod runs into problems which forces the user to do a full restore.(This part forces you to download the latest iOS before you can do a restore).
I just want the iDevices to allow downgrade-ability. I mean I can downgrade from Lion to Snow Leopard, why not iDevices? Maybe when apple decides to marry iOS and Mac OS X is the day we can start downgrading the iDevices as well.
