I was thinking of this today while driving into school. When I drive, I always listen to my ipod through a FM transmitter. Now, when the iPhone comes out, I was wondering how this would work....For example...

I am driving to school, using my iPhone + FM Transmitter to listen to my music in the car. I then receive (or make) a phone call. Now, since there is a headphone jack in the iPhone, will it send the audio through the transmitter? If so, since it is obviously not those Apple headphones, where would it pick up my voice? Would it be smart enough to switch to the speaker phone mic? Or will I be able to pick it up to my ear? Or, last case...will I be forced to use a bluetooth headset in this kind of situation?

I am not worried, because I'm sure that Apple has figured something out for such a case, but it is worth thinking of how it will be handled.

I hope that it will play it through the car speakers and use the speaker phone mic to pick up my voice...that'd be kinda sweet :D

Sweet indeed!:D I think its possible that the transmitter could play through the speakers and the mic on the phone would pick up your voice. This is the way it works with bluetooth speaker phones except of course you dont use them to play music.

Good question, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
