Do you think Apple might expand from the current combo (and features) that the AppleTV and iPhone currently do with each other? Do you reckon there's a chance that Apple could release an SDK specifically for the 'AppleTV and iPhone' combo where developers can write code for the AppleTV and whatever is displayed on the iPhone at the same time. Similar to the 'Remote ' app that Apple have currently but developers could have whatever they want displayed on the iPhone screen and on the TV screen. Or maybe more realistically open it up to a select few like they have done with the iPod and it's games.

I'd love to see some apps on my Apple TV along the lines of...

-A contacts app that gets your contacts from your computer over Wi-Fi.
-A weather app.
-A movie times app.
-Some simple games like tetris (use the iPhone as a trackpad).
-A visualizer.
-A Google Maps app.

That's all I can think of at the moment but there could be endless great apps. The AppleTV might need a hardware upgrade to work with a few but it'd make the AppleTV an all-round more powerful device.

What do you guys think?

It's a great idea.

Imagine an App Store on the AppleTV

Think of games you could control using the iPhone/iPod touch as the controller.

I just want to be able to use my iPhone to type in the WiFi password at setup....
