I was just browsing the forums to see if anyone was experiencing an unusual decrease in battery life or if it was just me. I'm apparently not the only one. I am using an iPhone 4 on iOS 5 and i was messing around in the location services in the settings menu and i stumbled across something i think nobody else did (correct me if i'm wrong) but apple's default WEATHER app is set to use location services by default and is using it in the background. I shut it off as soon as i saw it was on (I use Fahrenheit as my main weather app anyways). I think this is because its constantly updating the weather widget in the notification bar. Anyone else see this?

Why do you think it's "updating in the background"?

It's only going to update when you try to look at the notification bar, or open the weather app. It's not constantly looking for your location.

That would be quite often for me and probably a lot of people since i personally get tons of notifications from various apps. Also, i said it was a possibility, not the actually cause. It could also be a power management issue from within the system binary, similar to the battery issue in iOS 4.3 except its not as worse.

Alright, but honestly, 5.0.1 can't come any sooner, no only because of the battery drain, but other bug i've experienced as well. And to think i told myself that i'd wait until 5.0.1.....
