I have seen pictures of people's lcd and it completly destroys the screen, but i think mine is cracked but it doesn't actually effect the screen. on the bottem of the screen there is a 1/2 inch long gray line, very thing, going on an angle to the right (its about in hte middle of the bottem part of the screen. THis appened a month ago, i heard about apple's policy about lcd screens so i just bought an external screen and have been using that.
I am in college and i use my laptop in the lecture hall for notes during biology. I am always looking at the crack, making sure it doesn't get any larger, and quite literally, i watched about 1/4 of an inch to the right of the crack a few pixels grouped together died, then about another 1/4 of an inch to the right of that another small grouping just died.
Is this a crack in the lcd screen? I love my macbook and treat it like an egg.:(

How did the crack happen? Sure it's not just a scratch? Odd about the pixels though; are we talking dead (black) pixels are stuck pixels (coloured)?

no..it didn't come like that, but oddly as i said it treat it very well...i will post pictures by the end of the night...and i was mistaken about it being dead pixels i guess...they are gray, which is odd, the line is also gray...i had called applecare and they told me (after being charged for the phonecall because my 6 month phone support ended) that i need to bring it to an apple store, nearest is 2 hours away and i'm a colege kid without a car...so thats not happening anytime soon...
as i said pictures soon...

i was wrong about them being dead pixels
when i put slight pressure on any area of the screen the two spots hte odd marks are act like i am pressing on it, i told this to my roomate and surprise suprise, he has the same problem but on the middle of his screen
is apple selling crappy lcd screens?
there is no way i am not paying for a repair on something thats their fault

i still have to get ahead of a digtal camera for a picture....

As we said, without seeing, any guesses are purely that.
