Hey their guys, so i'm very interested in upgrading the Graphics card in my imac (I have the 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 20 Inch Screen which came out in mid 2009 i believe) So the question is, is it possible to upgrade it from what i already have? Or is there no one who really makes graphics cards that will fit my imac? Any feedback will help, thanks!

If your iMac uses mxm interface, currently the strongest card you can fit in there would be a mobility 4850 mxm card.

You'd have to check teardowns to be sure yours uses an mxm interface. You'd also wanna check your power supply to see if you have enough to supply the card. It'll probably run hotter than what you currently have in the iMac, so you'd have to manually up the speed of the fan nearest the gpu heatsink using smc fan control. A more realistic upgrade would be mobility 4670.

If the gpu your iMac uses is integrated, then it's not upgradeable.

Forgive my ignorance, but how exactly do i check if my imac uses mxm interface?

Ah of course i overlooked the 2nd sentence you typed, sorry about that. According to some research i did over the past hour it looks the GPU is integrated, therefore not upgradeable like you stated :/ Oh well, thank you very much for your help you have been most useful!
