Would it be possible to overclock the 5670HD in the 21.5" iMac? I heard somewhere, judging by the device ID, that it is a 5730M card.

I have been watching the thread on clocking the 5850M, and seeing the great FPS improvements, so was wondering if it would be in anyway possible to do it to the 5730M.

Heres what it says in System Profiler if it is any help:

ATI Radeon HD 5670:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5670
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 512 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x68c0
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-B9850H-133
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.416

Cheers and TIA

Yes, you should be able to do that. Just use the MSI AfterBurner OC tool, that's what people with 5850M have used. 5730M is 9W cooler than 4670M is so I would expect 5730M to OC around 750/750/900 (core, shader, memory in MHz) without driving into heat issues. Likely even more if you use MacFan to speed up the fans
