Hey guys,

Just wondering if there are any possible release dates for the new MP? I'm planning on going for a new computer hopefully by the end of september (currently still working on the 2010 MP) Is there a good chance it will come out in september or is there "probably" no way and more likely be around december?

Also, will the NMP possibly be released together with Mavericks or isn't that the way Apple does things.

Availibility likelihood gets higher as get toward end of the year.

At this point there are 3 major unfinished/unreleased pieces.

1. Xeon E5 v2
2. OS X 10.8 Mavericks
3. Thunderbolt v2 ( Intel is shooting for volume shipments of this in 2014; not 2013 )

September maybe available . TB v2 may not have bugs worked out. Intel may have announced E5 v2 but not particularly shipping in volume to vendors ( happened in 2012. Announce March ... shipping volume May ). OS X 10.8 probably out then (rumor on other Mac launches for Aug/Sept timeframe).

October better odds. Intel should have announced so even if "later".. at this point it is later. It is now more than 6 months after Intel got TB v2 initial engineering samples from fab so decent chance bugs worked out.

November better still. Even if slow roll release the E5 v2 there has been a gap.

December pretty high since they are at their self imposed deadline.

I don't think Apple has set a date because they don't know.

Generally, not. Close but not on the same day. The initial primary flurry with an OS X release is to get folks who already have Macs to buy it and install it.

Prior to the Xmas buying season......mid October.

But for me I NEVER buy V1.0 of anything. So I'll wait to read the reviews and see how stable the platform is before jumping in. I really want this one so I may violate my 1.0 rule this time.

Well you could convince yourself that it's really a 6.1 model.
