Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked before. At the bottom of forums.macrumors.com, you see new threads posted.

Basically I was wondering if there's any way to block PRSI from showing up here. Or even block PRSI globally?

Thank you for any help you can provide. :)

You can set forums to be ignored so posts don't show up in New Posts and Spy but I'm not sure if it will block new threads from showing up in the forums page.

Thank you for your response - now you've mentioned it, it's a glaringly obvious option for how to ignore certain forums, so I appreciate your patience.

I've added PRSI to block and hopefully it shouldn't show in the forum list. Regardless, it'll be a step in the right direction.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond!

Hi there Olly,

Sorry to reopen an older thread. I guess this would come under site feedback.

May I request if there is any way to add blocking PRSI in the forums list (screenshotted in the example below)? I've got it blocked on my actual list but no luck otherwise :(

There are just more and more of them sprouting up every minute and I'd much rather help people with tech issues. Even if the person is on my block list, the thread still shows up, albeit with an empty post and 'Show ignored content'.

I really hope this may be possible to do!

Best wishes as ever! :)

Personally, I never use Forum Spy, which means that the only notifications I receive are 1) from threads that I have chosen to 'watch' (and not every thread that I reply to is 'watched'), 2) someone quotes a post I made, refers to me, or replies to a post I have made.

This means that I don't receive notifications from threads I unless I have chosen to 'watch' (i.e. follow) them, or, unless someone mentions me, quotes me or replies to me.

It also means that I have to actively seek out areas that might be of interest to me, but that is a small price to pay not to be inundated. Some weeks ago, I turned off email notifications, because it was driving me nuts.

The spy list only has four lines. I don't even look at it. Don't you find it more efficient to ignore certain forums then use Trending and New Threads, and Watched Forums? You can create your own workflow.

Ah, crumbs. Colour me bitterly embarrassed. I never really explored those tabs. I feel like such an idiot.

The 'New Threads' view is certainly much better for what I need. Apologies for bothering you, @OllyW... and thank you @rshrugged for taking the time to reply. We'll tick this one off as 'Resolved - Liveware Issue'.

Please could you rephrase your question? I might need a top up of coffee as I'm not sure what you're asking.
