Let's just say someone's not happy about our app's name... Does anyone know if there's a way through iTunesConnect or Apple to change the name of the app without resubmitting since it would screw all the people that already purchased our app?

Thanks!

I should have mentioned that we would push out an update with other changes, but I'm not sure if the name can change on the iTunes store. I know you can change the Bundle Identifier but that's for the .plist on the device, and I'm pretty sure it has to match the name you originally entered in iTunesConnect. I'm not sure if that can change somehow, though.

The way to change the name of an app already in the App store is to submit and update and wait for Apple to approve it.

You can always hide an app from sale (just uncheck all countries except maybe some remote island) until that's done.

There are two plist settings to consider here: 1) Bundle Identifier, don't change if you want a new version to be considered an update, and 2) Bundle Display Name, this is the name that appears below the icon on springboard. There's also the App Name in iTunes Connect. This is the name that appears in the App Store.

@firewood: we're waiting for a response, we don't even think we should be forced to change the name but we'll see. changing the name during an update as you mentioned, is that what dejo mentioned, the app store name?

@dejo: ahh, okay. so we can change the bundle display name... but we can't change the app name in iTunes Connect?

I'm a bit new to this guys, thanks for bearing with me!

You can change the App Name in iTunes Connect but only when the app is in an 'editable state', normally as part of submitting a new version. For example, one my my app's bundle display name is "a.k.a." but the App Name is "a.k.a. - Your Favorite Name Generator". See the iTunes Connect FAQ section on Manage Your Applications for more details.

IOS APP Name change problems

My APP was working perfectly fine, I sent an update and changed my APP's name on Itunesconnect while submitting an update, The update submitted successfully and approved, I have added google analytics in my new update and changed its name.

Now, google analytics are showing that my App is selling on different places and I am also seeing that some locked features of my APP (which enables on successful Inapp purchase) are being used.

Itunesconnect is showing 0 sale for last 18 days while my selling average was 2,3 apps in a week.

Is there anything missing in the update which is causing Inapp problem? If yes why Apple didn't highlighted in the update?
