I just upgraded my mom to a iphone 5S. She's had a 3GS for far too long. Thing is, she accidentally upgraded it to 6.1.3. This makes the phone extremely aggravating to use due to how slow it is.

I've never jailbroken the phone before, nor saved any shsh blobs for it. I haven't jailbroken an iphone in ages either.

Is it possible to get this 3GS off of ios 6 at all?

much appreciated!

Yea it changed - a very long time ago (when iOS4 was released by Apple = June 2010)

And you have been where for 3 1/2 years ??

Lol no no, i meant something changed as in the JB community figured out a way to spoof or otherwise get around apple signatures, even doing away with the need for shsh blobs.

I found a new use for my moms old 3GS though. Its become my bathroom time reader now. win!

Apple was signing iOS 4.1 for a very long time (i.e. well into 6.x releases). They might still be now, but I'm not 100% sure. Definitely worth looking into if you're willing to make that big of a downgrade.

Giant Bump. sorry:(
Go on google and find a way to detect if its old bootrom or new.
If It's old bootrom then make a custom firmware of any version like 4.3.3 and downgrade it without shsh:).

Pretty sure OP has moved on since December 2013.

You had to suspect that though considering you knew the age of the thread enough to apologize for bumping it.
