Is it possible to enable MMS on a 1st Gen iPhone on AT&T running 3.1.2?

I know it's possible on TMobile.

Yes, it is.

Install "Enable MMS for 2G 3.1.2
Restart iphone.

There are many many people including myself who could not get that to work until they followed some slightly differnt instructions on the sinfuliphone forums.

Good to know. I also think AT&T might block it

There is a few apps onthe app store that do mms there is a slight delay between sending and receving though

They might. We have two 2G iPhones that we activated in December, only one of them can send MMS using this mod. It's not the phone because we swapped sims and suddenly, the 2G that can't send MMS, can. They have something weird going on...

I just updated my iphone 2g to 3.1.2, and I am trying to get MMS working. When I try to add the sinfuliphonerepo source in cydia it says that the repository cannot be found!

Make sure you spell it right and with the forward slash at the end /
