I'm mostly wondering about the special little (very little) cable/bracket that Apple is using to attach the SATA drives to the mobo/power -- that doesn't seem like a part that's likely to be readily available from, e.g., Newegg.

If I ever wanted to put an SSD and/or a second HD in a base Mini (or any of the non-server versions of the Mini) am I going to be able to find the necessary cables to do it?

Anyone care to speculate?

I think that the cable for the 2010 server is the same. Need to order one to try. Then see if there are any brackets or stand-off screws missing.

Apple 922-9560 Cable, Flex, Bottom Hard Drive, Server

from the diagrams things are upside down:
Bottom=upper
Top=lower

I'm looking forward to see if they can source this part from some supplier and sell a "2nd harddrive kit". :)

We know it's designed for 2 drives, even the base non-server model can be CTO with two drives. We just need the right part(s).
