Possible to overclock 1,1s?

Simple question... Can you overclock the 1,1s? Specifically one that has had a 2,1 firmware update with 2.66 quads transplanted into it.

If so, how hard is it for a person that has never done any scripting, hacking ect.

technically yes, with the ZDNet clock tool, but the changes won't stay on restart and restarting is the only way to stop your console from reporting errors and your clock from going out of sync.

I wouldn't bother OC:ing as peabo already mentioned and in fact, in my case, I would've stuck with the 5160s. My day to day work doesn't require more than 4 cores.

In your case, on apps that don't utilize all cores, you'll see a significan't drop in performance from the 5160s. Just saying...

Understandable. I do use the cores every once in a while exporting from compressor or Premier, however I believe Lightroom 4 only uses up to 6 cores (Which is the program I use the most.)

I may switch them in and out and do some testing to see which actually gives me the most benefit here soon.
