iOS Possible to prevent iPhone from going to sleep?

I have an app that needs to continuously monitor GPS. However, after about a minute of inactivity, the device goes to sleep and GPS is turned off (to save power, presumably). Is there any way for my application to keep GPS on as long as it's running? Thanks in advance.

It's probably easier to suggest to your users to turn auto lock off in the settings.
