I tested this out recently... The drive sits perfectly in terms of width but, even with the screws tightened, it is loose enough to hang down on the unsecured side. I can still slide it into place and it works, but I am not sure if it is a good idea to use the drive like this. If I needed to remove/insert the sled in the future, it seems pushing it in while hanging at a slight angle will eventually lead to something getting damaged. Note that this is with a Samsung 860PRO; maybe your drive is much more secure (?).
I know I can insert some padding or something to hold up the other side, but I would prefer a more elegant solution if possible (especially with such an "elegant" sled). I guess it is not such a big deal as I can always get a new drive sled altogether, but I like reusing the components I already have whenever possible.
