Tons of new computing devices were shown today. Just go to http://www.engadget.com/ and scroll your way through all of them.

It's fascinating how many are touch-enabled, tablets, tablets with docks, transformable, ect. There are so many varieties.

This is something new. Things like this aren't just anywhere. Go to your local best buy and look at the computers - you'll see very standard designs. The same things we've looked at for years. But we're finally breaking into some new uncharted territory. No one seems to know what the right design is. Again, look at all the devices that have been shown today.

What are your thoughts on this? What do you expect consumers are going to flock to once these are all actually released? Do you actually like these new devices?

Apple should not need to worry since most of these toaster fridges are crappy anyways.

I don't think anyone was implying that Apple should be worrying about this. Just because someone posts about *other* devices on this forum, does not mean they are declaring Apple's products to be forever doomed to stay on the shelf in the Apple Store.

Umm, what's that got to do with anything?

I postad that since this thread will soon lead to that topic anyways, just like tat "New thinner. IMac" thread which turned into ODD battles.

That is your excuse? So it is okay to go ahead and derail a train based on that there is a chance that it could derail further down the line? 0/10.

Back on topic - I haven't looked through all the articles yet, but the ones I've seen haven't been able to top the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga introduced last year for release this year. That is one fantastic looking machine and I'm kind of hoping to see some sort of update on specs/pricing from them soon.

The Dell XPS 27 All in One looks like a beautiful and (with options) fully loaded machine. Fantastic display and resolution, touch screen upgrade for Win8, an honest to goodness GPU if you're into that, and all around rave reviews.
