So, found an ad on craigslist for a seemingly dead 5,1 8 core with an included 20" ACD for a good price. I'm guessing it just needs a new power supply and then will be as good as new.

The guy selling it is not very knowledgable about the machine, all he knows is that one day it just wouldn't turn on anymore. So the power supply seems like the obvious choice.

However, anything else I should watch out for? Any type of damage internally that I should try to look for? Just want to make sure it's not a complete loss.

Thanks in advance.

Well, seller sent me pics of the serial number plate...not only was it not a 2010, it's a 2006 quad core 2.66 with a 7300GT and the stock hard drive as far as he knows...definitely not interested in that...

So I suppose I'm still looking for a dual socket 2010...
