Hoping someone here has a solution.

I waited until Apple gave the 'all clear' to start updating my iPad Pro. However, it bricked. Left me with the "plug into iTunes" screen. What's worse, every time I attempt a restore, after several minutes iTunes appears to refresh and then the iPad switches to the white apple logo, and back to the restore mode screen, and the same "Restore or Update" message pops up.

Any suggestions, before I make an appointment at the overbooked Apple store 90 minutes away?

Thanks!

HI! put your iPad in DFU mode and then restore it! did it work?

Have you updated iTunes?

Well, it effectively IS in DFU mode, however; it continues to behave this way even if I manually put it into the 'black screen' DFU mode.

Have you updated iTunes?
Yes, on my Mac's and my Windows PC. I've tried both my MacBook Pro (which I generally sync with), and with my Windows PC. Same behavior with each.

The issue is persisting into the night. Now it doesn't fail as quickly, but it still fails. After downloading several hundred MB worth of the "update" (aka iOS 9) it says "the connection timed out". Is it possible just my slow 6mbps internet connection is somehow tripping it up? Though I've never had that problem in the past.

I'm going to try it again from my office tomorrow on my Mac Mini (100mbps connection) and see if I can get anything figured out. What a frustrating way to not have my iPad for a day. AND, I waited until Apple gave the 'all clear'. Clearly, at least for me, it's still broken!

Download the iOS 10 update IPSW, Option (Mac) or Control (PC) click, find the file on your computer, and click either Update or Restore.

This is why I update the old fashioned way with iTunes. I don't trust OTA.

Hmm, iOS 9 shouldn't be installing.

Mine downloaded fine.

Install happened and the initial loading logo screen finished and then my screen went black for almost 2/3 minutes. I guess I had to boot it up manually and the second part continued. IDK if that was supposed to happen, but once it started I didn't notice any issues with the software.

Giving that a try now. Downloading the IPSW at my office.

EDIT: Got the error, "This iPad could not be restored". Guess I'll make an appointment with the Apple Store. According to the website, next opening is next Monday. Whoopee.

Erm... congrats? Unfortunately, it didn't go that smoothly for me. It flashed to black then went to restore mode.
