I most likely got money or gift certificates towards software training DVDs. My Mom asked for ideas and thats what I gave her.

That being said she doesn't like to give "intangible" gifts so I wouldn't be surprised if I got ugly old people sweaters instead ;)

Its the thought that counts though so it doesn't really matter to me.

Just ordered a 2TB HDD for my Time Machine backups, calling it an early Christmas present for myself! :p

Have a pretty good idea of what I'll be getting come Tuesday, but TBH I prefer giving presents. Got my dad lots of chocolates and a couple of books, and got my mum some stuff for the garden, so yeah :)

Yesterday (23/12/2012) we had our family get together with all relatives, which is getting bigger every year.

Names are picked out of a hat before hand and we buy the person a gift between $15-$20 AUD. It's still secret Santa however.

I was given this. A quote a day for a whole year.

A VERY early xmas gift to myself. Been eying this for some time now. Very happy with this phone. Screen size is fantastic for watching movies and what not.

And hordes of Blu-rays to add to my ever growing collection.

It does sound like slight apple overkill, but then, it's all good: decided to upgrade my iPhone 4 to a 5 a few weeks ago as ultra early Xmas gift, then my partner surprised me with an ipad mini a few days ago - to shut me up :) and also there is a wrapped box under the tree that really looks like it can hold a 15" MacBook Pro. I just have no idea if its a retina or any other specs,... Can't wait for tomorrow morning either way... And there is a watch in the mail, it didn't make it in time.
