I have tried using Supercal (pretty nice program), but I really don't have the eye for color and know that others could do much better.

So if you think that you have a nice color profile setup for your iMac, please post it here.

Thanks!

Nice. Not too washed for you then?

Anyone else use a custom profile?
Well I do, but beyond saying so I don't know what you mean by "posting" my colour profile.

It's a good opportunity for a bad joke I guess, but JimmDean beat me to it. ;)

Ok, what I want you to do is zip up your custom profile (you can get at it through the system files) and upload here.... want to see what everyone else is using.

A bit dark, but the best I could come up with, I'm perfectly satisfied with this profile.

Here you go.

One of them has less gamma than the other and they may be to darkish grey for you but they work for me and some others on here.

Enjoy

PS my display model is a 9C6A as opposed to 9C6B meaning this profiles may not work on your display

The "Primary" one looks great! Thanks for sharing! :)

I just took delivery of a 20"er today. Is it worth using these custom color profiles? And how do you go about installing them?

If your default profile suits you fine then stick with it but if you want a custom one then use the ones posted in the thread by copying and pasting them into HD/Library/Colorsync/Profiles/Displays

Many have complained about the washed-out-ness of the default profile however YMMV

maybe Im just used to what Im using but the primary and perfect looked horrible. Everything looked like it had a purple tint to it. Guess Im sticking with the default 'iMac'
