Ahm... wouldnt that be the same for us who have ordinary monitors?

If you own an iMac 27 late 2013, for example, ANY 4K resolution image will be displayed as 2560 x 1440.

So... no, we can't see a difference, unless you have a 4K monitor.

haha i think you missed the point.

I want to admire the space and look and feel of the 4k screens, running Mac.

It doesnt have to be full screen on your screen, you can still admire the 4k real estate and perhaps peoples uses of this extra real estate (by means of geektool for example) :)

I think you missed the point, maybe you didn't mean screenshot. Maybe just a picture of some ones 4K monitor setup.

your logic is flawed.

why would you care if your screen is 4k for viewing a 4k screenshot or not. its not like im looking for clarity or sharpness, i specified i am looking at the use of real estate, and general aesthetics of the 4k screen, not the 1:1 scaling of a 4k desktop for analysis.

If i had a 4k screen why would i be asking for a 4k screen screenshot?

Aren't clarity and sharpness important characteristics of 4k displays?

You, sir, are the closest any of us will get to hitting the nail on the head in this thread.

meh 4k displays dont do anything for me. I prefer the 34 inch lg 34um95 ultrawide QHD. There is so many pixels anyway I dont miss the height. its freaking sweet on games too. The only thing that would make it better imho is if the screen was curved. plus you get way better performance then a 4k screen.

Here ya go.

4K in all it's glory

It would be nice if this display was resolution independent. Everything seems so tiny. Be nice If you could change it so that everything looks like it would on a 1080p type monitor but with the sharpness and clarity of 4K.

The centre screen is the Samsung u28d590d 4k monitor running at 1080 hi dpi mode. The other 2 are 27" 1080 screens. Late 2013 Macbook pro retina with displaylink adaptor to run 3rd screen.
