Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

Hi MacRumors! It's been a while.

Having had a little clear out, I couldn't quite get rid of my Mac Mini Mid-2007! Instead I kept its casing and sold its guts. In turn I upcycled it into a lamp! It started off life with the Mac Mini Belkin USB hub as a base, but it evolved into the Iomega Hard Drive to accommodate a HomeKit controlled RGBW bulb made by EasyBulb Plus.

Has anyone else Upcycled an Apple product or bought something upcycled? If so, post it here!

I don't have any newer pics, from the new house or the MUCH better cable management inside it. This is my G5 "power strip" My whole desk is plugged into this plug strip. I run the wires out of the card slots and such in the back. It was a dead 2.7 water cooled system. LCS is sitting on my desk now as a "desk toy" or decoration. I still love this thing, helps keep cabling organized and hidden. Could use one of the small cable boxes, but this looks so much better, IMO. Its also super easy to add/remove/modify things as i get new things or add things to my desk, instead of having to deal with a rats nest of wires under the desk, I just remove the side panel on the G5 and there it is.

anyway, here is a pic of it (and me) in the old apartment while I was first putting it together and figuring out how to run all my cables too it (previously had the power strip hanging under my Ikea Jerker and cables in an Ikea cable rack.

Oh how I wish I could find a Cube. Been looking for one for a good price for years. I want to make a small fish tank out of one, for a single Beta or something.
