Went with an Andromeda galaxy shot from the NASA link that @Birkan mentioned. It looks great on Retina displays, but I doubt I'll use it long. I like dark wallpaper, but not almost black. The contract between almost black wallpaper and the bright macOS UI bothers me.

Ok, real quick history lesson. They want you to believe that that painting is of Washington, crossing the potomac river.
In REALITY, it's King Arthur, crossing to defeat Hitler, Aliens, and MAAAAYBE even zombies. We have no evidence on zombies, but till this day, there are sightings of nazi zombies.
Go get a refund from your university.
