Just got my new MBP and did a quick geekbench benchmark.

Here are my results on my 2.53 i5 15"

I was actually hoping for something a little higher, around 4000. :(

Make sure you close any running applications, and don't forget your dashboard widgets.

Lets see how long I keep the lead... :p

... Prolly till someone shows up with one of those new Mac Pros. Man, what I'd do for one of those.

Pretty much maxed out this old beast... might be jumping to a new MacBook Pro soon (I wish).

Here are the results for my Mac Pro. Out of curiosity, I ran the test on my G4 Cube (hard to believe it is a decade old already) for comparison.

I have a unibody MacBook (late 2008). I just got some new RAM today (upgrading from 2 to 4) and decided to see the performance increase I might get.

With 2gb - 2892
With 4gb - 2812

Huh?

How could it have gone down?

MBP doing the best is can. Can't wait until the 13" models have at least an i3.

Is your MBP running fine? You have more RAM than me, a faster HDD, and the processor is nearly the same, but I get 700 points more than you...
You have a faster processor. I don't think the amount of RAM or SSD make a difference here. I don't even see see GeekBench rating the HDD/SSD.
