WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!!
I was just at my relatives house and there was one of those things in an abandned car.. we had no clue what it was
Yes, my family and I were 13-16 in line on opening day! I missed Leopard day, but bought Leopard online and bought a shirt from someone at MR!
The device on the left is a slide rule. This is the one I bought as a high school senior. It's a Pickett model 800. It still works just fine, whereas most electronic calculators wind up in the landfill in a few years. The device on the right is a Triplett Volt-Ohm meter, commonly used by techncians and engineers. Although digital models are far more popular (and rugged!) now, analog models from Triplett and Simpson are preferred (and in some cases, required if a test procedure calls for it) by many.

Sorry to make you feel old but I recognised the slide rule because my Dad has shown me them from when he used them and i'm 23.
I'm sure have some geeky tools somewhere but they are probably buried deep in my box o cables (which I suppose is a geeky tool in itself)

Years ago, they had a very cool crystal radio kit, with enormous knobs, a very nice wooden case, and serious brass fittings. Don't think they have much of that stuff anymore though. xUKHCx, does your dad have a set of these around somewhere?
The divider is probably one of the handiest tools. Useful for alegbra and geometry problems, it is also very useful for working mileage on a map, with the mileage scale. (Kilometers, for or friends to the north and overseas.)
