I don't know if there's a user guide for the HDR function yet, but I found that I got better results by tap-focusing on the darkest part of the screen.

It seems like the function works really well, which is good. All those pictures look very nice.

Right is the HDR.. Just happened to see this one in my camera roll.. Similat to the inside the car picture posted by bibbz

Wow, thats actually quite impressive. There is a huge difference. Why wouldnt they make this just standard in the phone, not an option to turn on?

I've taken a few shots with this & love it, although the photographer in me has observed a few flaws - the sensor still has a limited dynamic range (obviously a phone camera doesn't replace an SLR) which results in clipping of highlights & detail as well as a couple of other minor things such as not being able to use the flash at the same time (although given the way the HDR works on the iPhone it isn't surprising you can't use the flash).

For me the greatest thing about the feature is you don't have to stand there taking three photos - the camera just takes the one (so it seems) and hey presto!

In case you are wondering, i did not use flash in this pic.

Took this yesterday of an R8. It's amazing the quality that a cellphone camera can produce!

Also, look closely at signs. Seems to have made ghosts out of some of them!

That's because you were in motion, right? I don't know since I don't have my iP4 with me yet, but I think that might be the reason… I think.

In general I like the new HDR Function, but of course it depends a bit on what you wanna do with it.

In this case I prefer the non-HDR Version. It just looks a little more artistic. But to be fair, you can see the houses better on the hdr one.
