I never claimed to have made anything in my theme and I said it was made by you from dbar a few posts up... quit being a stingy little kid and causing drama. It's just an iPhone theme.

I didn't want to release in public, but you do it anyway Without Asking. Next time take that theme an mod it differently to your own liking and share it however you want, then I wouldnt give a dam.

Meanin you releases my theme without my permission.

I read the rule and I follow it, I guess you didnt

Learn English and then come complain to me about an iPhone theme that you didn't want to share with people, even though all they had to do was register on the Dbar forums and they could get it. Get over yourself.

W0W, get over your self SERIOUSLY, it's a freakin iphone theme, get off your period lmao

All of you who are telling heyisti to "get off his/her" high horse are really quite obnoxious and rude.

If heyisti created the theme, it is his/her right to release it as he/she pleases, all of you people who are crying over his/her non-release of his/her works are essentially pirates. Yet if some software dev steps up and says "stop pirating my app" everyone rushes to their defence. Utter crap.

Tatertot doesn't understand the word permission, anyway.

I heard that say "it just a freaking iPhone theme", Yea go play with the widget and let me see what you can come up with something different using the same widget.

I'll wait.

Why doesn't everyone share everything on this forum, isn't this why were here, to help each other, post our ideas, share themes, widgets, lockscreens etc... what's the point of coming here posting your home screen and not share it, tell me what is the point of this, telling people that you can get this and we can't??? at the end it's just a theme for a phone and we shouldn't be arguing about this, that's just my opinion, and I'm sure a lot of people here agree with me.

Looks like you didn't save image correctly. Go back to post and double click the icon. Then right click on pic and save as.

I'm doing exactly that. But since I'm on a 3GS. I'm opening the png in Paint and resizing to 57x57

Ha shows you what I know!

Everyone shares so much iPhone stuff in this thread unlike any other forum I've seen.

Thanks for these. Been looking for a nice new font to use. Also, any chance you could post your SMS icon you have in the pics? :D

Hey thanks, but I tried that and it doesn't seem to be working. Is it supposed to be iP4 compatible?

Should be. I used it for awhile myself on mine and it worked fine. You could try just taking whatever PNG is in there and then replace your default one with that.

Honestly, while everyone here appreciates the hard work that people put into these themes, what's the point of showing off just for the hell of it? If that's your thing then fine, no problem, but if you're posting your theme on some forum whether it be here, Macthemes, dBar, etc, someone will get their hands on it and share as that's the way things are. Bottom line is, wherever you wind up posting your theme, someone else will get it and share. If you don't want to share or don't want to make it available for release or something; don't post it. Seriously, come on now.

For the same reasons that art gallerys exist. They do not exist so that the Artist can teach people how to create the paintings/artworks, instead it is to display and inspire. Some people might want to provide a 'how to' (by posting up the theme, giving explanations) and that's fine, and the community is thankful for that. But it is worth remembering that there is no "right" to have heyisti's themes, he/she is the only person who ought to have control over whether his/her themes are released and what degree of support he/she provides.

Help!

If there's one thing I've learned from all this it's that you can't win either way. If you post NFR stuff in a screenshot, everyone cries about you not sharing it, calls you selfish, tells you to stop being greedy and share it, "it's just a phone", etc. And if you do give to the community, you get shut down because someone somewhere complained about a "leak," e.g. my icon thread. Solution - don't ever post any screenshots, ever.

So uhh how do I get rid of these white borders?

IMG_0049.png

You've got to make the background transparent in photoshop (using the Magic Eraser is an easy way) and then save the image as a PNG and select the "Transparency" or "Save Transparency" option. I'm not 100% sure what the option is called, but it has the word transparency in it haha

Thats life to be honest . Nfr is actually really a part of everyday life not just when it comes to themes . My two cents .

Thats life to be honest .

unfortunately, too many people seem to interpret "life" and "iphone theme" as being synonymous. I would be much more sympathetic and sensitive to artist's complaints if they were making money from their themes, but they aren't (the vast majority anyway...all the paid themes look like garbage IMO anyway). It's just drama.

EDIT: Just read your edit. Yeah, I understand NFR as being a universal concept, comparable to copyrights and plagiarism and infringement and all that. But the simple fact is that none of these things apply. You can't call it PIRACY if the artist posted their work in a PUBLIC domain, intended to be released for FREE for EVERYONE, with no copyright or NFR announcement, and then go berserk when someone rips an icon from their screenshot just because it's a work in progress.

I mean as in if for example Porsche brought out a certain amount of a special edition of a car , only a few hundred will be made and that's it and the people that have them have them . People can't complain because that's just how things go ,really. It's the same as nfr if you understand what I mean . Only a few will have it . There's just no point in complaining because that's just life .

I see what you mean, that you can't always get what you want. But that's not what I'm really talking about. If anything, I'm just saying how the concept of NFR with regard to iphone themes specifically has basically lost meaning, and that people who claim NFR throw it around without actually taking the effort to enforce it. Do you see the difference? Posting up a screenshot of all your hard work in a public place, where it can easily be ripped by anybody, and then crying "NOOOO ITS NFR!!! MODS TAKE IT DOWN!!!" is just stupid. If you really didn't want it to be in the hands of the public, you'd lock it down to a very very tight group of people, or take it one step further and not share it ANYWHERE. Problem solved. Expecting millions of anonymous people on the internet to abide by some kind of mutual artist respect, nowadays, is just unrealistic.

What these artists are doing is essentially teasing the public and dangling the carrot in front of their noses, then freaking out when someone takes it. Either way, I don't care - but I know for sure that if I made a theme that I wanted all to myself, no one would even know about its existence. my stance on NFR is like I said above, if you don't want anyone to have it, then don't release it in any form anywhere. Otherwise you have no one to blame but yourself.

ok now that my theme is out in public. Ill let it be.

next time plz do not releases my theme without permission. You can find some theme for download on my http://heyisti.deviantart.com or on dbar.

TaterToT, I want you to mod a new LS using my widget that you releases it here.

rule:
-you can't use the same overlay, make it your own in PS
-rearrange the time, date, weather to however you want it
-it have to be simple & elegant just like mine

if you do so, we be even. I'll give you 2 week, it take 5hr for me.
if you can't do it, then don't ever complain or releases other author theme etc without their PERMISSION!!!

are you up for it?

This one draws inspiration from several sources: Chancellorr, adambobbyburgers' New Leaf, some elements from MadLockscreen, and some from Frost LS.

The font I am using is called 'Geo Sans Light' from here: Link . If you choose to use a different font, you will most likely need to move things around on the screen a bit.

Search for 'var locale = Ann Arbor, MI' in the LockBackground.html file to change your location

Click here to start the DOWNLOAD --> link
Hope you like it!

This is friggin nice. I'm definitely going to use this.

^Ohahaha^ Laughable @heyisti. It says a lot about "NFR" that the people who post SS, with NFR stuff, its never their work. And the ones whose it is their work, like heyisti its just a mod of someone else's work and they need permission to release it as well. And actual artist will say, I need a critique of my work, so keep it on Dribbble or the WIP on M* or Forrst, or whatever else. But hey, ultimately, do what you want, but don't complain when others do what they want.
