Sounds amazing! I do envy how well rounded your cellar is. Ours is littered with California reds predominantly. We also, have several cases of Pinot from the Pacific Northwest. Finally, we stock a fair amount of super Tuscans and brunellos. I might have 6 bottles of various bordeaux. I like Bordeaux, but there is a lot of overpriced junk that flood the market here and there aren't enough tastings that feature imported wine. It's just hard for me to justify experimenting with even $70 bottles. Maybe, you'll have to send me some notes.

Wine merchants sometimes invite me to seriously good (as in the wine on offer is seriously good) tastings; I'll be honest: Until three years ago (when I was home on leave from someplace strange and interesting) I never bought white wines. I loathed the bloated Chardonnays or insipid thin wines of the new world (and, apart from Chilean reserves, had not much love for New World wines).

At a private wine tasting of exceptionally good wines three years ago, I got to taste a Meursault (and a Barsac Sauternes); both were superb, and I will freely admit that they caused me to have some sort of epiphany concerning white wines.

However, I agree re price: Had I not had the opportunity to taste them, I would never have bought those wines simply to try them out, or as an experiment. Having tried them, I felt no compunction in buying them.

Cough, is the only answer to the first question.

Ah, re the second, um, well, there are bottles of three different types of Meursault, a few Grand Cru wines from Bordeaux, several premier crus, a Chateau Kirwan, some aged tawnies and vintage ports, (20 year olds, and a 30 year old, a stunning solera sherry from 1961), some serious Burgundies, and a number of stunning Amarones from Italy.

And then quite a, well, good number of exceedingly good mid level wines, from Italy: Several ripassos a, and a crate of good rich wine Spain (Los Cosmillos is a favourite, as is Manium, and Eternum Viti), and some excellent Rieslings from Germany and Gewurztraminers from Alsace.

From France, there are several pretty good reds, (mid range Burgundy and Bordeaux) and some lovely Pouilly-Fuisee wines, which are a revelation, and some terrific wines from Muller in Austria.

amazing!

as much as i can appreciate white wine (especially a crisp and earthy sancerre), i don't stock a lot of it. when i'm in the mood, or if food and/or weather dictates, i'll buy a 1/2 case and it'll be gone shortly thereafter. :)

Well, life is too short to want to drink rubbish wines. These days, I really only want to drink good stuff.

Almost all of my wines would be classed as pretty good, and some are excellent. A few might be termed outstanding.

And, I seem to have become pretty good at negotiating discounts……..

I swear Apple products just appear and my bank account empties by itself........

Good way to relive classic games, though I don't much care for the "3D." Also, I can't believe they didn't include a charger. I could see Apple don't that!

Had a little "Treat Yo Self" moment. I've been in the market for a new Kindle for a while, and decided to get the Kindle Voyage. I went over to Amazon to purchase it when I saw "NEW - Kindle Oasis." What is this? IT was just released today? Well damn, I can't have a last generation device! I have to get the latest edition.

So I placed the order for the most basic edition. Wait, Delivering early June? I can't wait that long! I want it now!

I add 3g to it. Do it need it? Absolutely not. Is it a waste of money? Probably.

Now delivering in 2 days with Amazon Prime. Perfect. I can't wait for it!

I really can't see how they are worth it. The Voyage is a really good device and light enough. The Oasis coming with a case is a bonus but can't see it being worth $200 or so. The Oasis is $450 Australian. Good luck with it though.

I'll test it for a week or so and decide if I want to return it or not. The last Kindle I had was the DX (which broke a while ago) and I've been using my iPhone. I miss the feel of a dedicated e-reader, and they do last a while. If it's gonna last me a few years or more, I can justify the price.

Finally decided to buy the MX master. Love it so far. Much better than any mouse I've ever used before and the shape really feels good as I have large enough hands!

Excuse the 'arty' Instagram pic!

Because even with school, nothing can stop my Shaws addiction. I decided to get a legit hard copy of the Masked Avengers while it's still available. Love that Wang Li's character is on the cover twice. He was awesome in this film (I've only begun noticing his martial talents as I rewatch the Venoms films and boy he can stand toe to toe with these guys.)

Using one right now. Takes a little bit to get used to from the older versions, but it's much more comfy once you get used to it.

Probably won't have time to get them out of the box until this weekend, but I am looking forward to trying them out (my other Hue lights are version one and these are version 2 - that also support Siri).

Love it. It makes me feel alive. One of my favorite things to do with my free time. My lawn is a pain, but I think I'm doing ok with it.

Looks good and it's therapeutic to take care of the lawn. I've gotten so many good tips from /r/lawncare Might want to check them out if you don't already.

i have adopted this same attitude and these days i'll only have a glass or two with a meal. my wife, however, likes to drink wine as her primary cocktail of choice (and so do a lot of her friends). hence, i we keep a good amount of decent table wine on hand. if she finds something under $20 that she likes, we'll grab a couple of cases. depending on who we have over, that could be gone in a week or two. o_O:)

Very exciting! I got an Echo Dot last month and have been looking to add a Hue setup - I'm just dragging my feet on ordering it. Definitely interested to hear your thoughts once you have them setup!

I am already a big fan of the Hue lights even though I don't have the Echo or the Siri control yet. I use them with Zuli presence features, IFTT to make them react when my Arlo cameras detect motion, etc. That being said, to expand my Hue setup from my office to the rest of the house, I needed a way to control them outside of using the iPhone app to override the Zuli presence features. Being able to just tell the Echo to turn on/off lights will make it a lot easier to use around the house...at least I am hoping that is the case.
