Ring Doorbell 2, Nest Thermostat, Refrigerator, Washer Dryer for the new home!

Should have gotten the Nest Doorbell as it plays so nicely in the Nest ecosystem and the quality blows the Ring away. Just another home owner to home owner recommendation :)

Congrats on the new home.

Which refrigerator and washer/drier?

I tend to stay away from google but found Ecoobee hidoeous thats why bought Nest. I am already running it through Homebridge so everything is in my Homekit App.

Thanks for the wishes :)

About five years ago I bought LG washer/drier on the pedestal and like them very much. But the pedestal are just drawers...which I don’t really use, but I love having the w&d off the floor! It’s just so convenient and comfortable.

I’m driving into your link for info but what is the washer pedestal? It looks interesting. Have you received them yet? What do you think?

No pictures, but ordered a leather spectacle case (and leather spectacle lanyards) from the excellent American company, Colonel Littleton.

I already have one superb leather spectacle case (have had it for six years) and it seemed prudent to order a second.

My previous leather lanyards got munched by an airport style security scanner (they fell out of the breast pocket of my jacket) in a hotel in Nairobi last year.

i didnt buy the pedestals as i found them not worh the price. I did look at the washer pedestal, its actually a washer for small loads but i think its over rated as you can use the big washer anyway lol

And why I tend to leave it to the experts these days!
Around here there is no such thing as an “expert” (literally had an “electrician” ask “what’s that third wire for”), coupled with a lack of value on time for a lot of people results in “suggestions” like “why spend ~2 hours installing the sprinklers (once), you can just water the plants by hand(about ~20 minutes for the area I was working on) every two days”.

A manual for a late 1960s Model 2520 John Deere tractor. Decided to learn how to operate it and maintain it, hence the manual. The owner (my SO’s father) is 94 and no longer able to use it, so I volunteered.

It has a blade attachment, which is handy for grading the ½ mile long dirt/gravel driveway; and a rotary brush cutter (commonly known as a ‘bush hog’) for mowing unruly brush on the property.

Last week I changed the oil, topped off the hydraulic fluid, and have arranged to have a couple of cracks in the blade attachment welded. I’ll also give it a thorough greasing.

Great fun!
