You'd be surprised how many companies/managers still believe 'sitting at a desk in our office' = 'working', 'sitting anywhere else' = 'cannot possibly be working'.

Even when I had an office job, I was warned "hey you should get here earlier, if the CEO doesn't see you at your desk he thinks we aren't working".

Yeah. I don't have that policy myself. It's a BS concept. The Japanese expect some of their office workers to be at their desk, even well after work hours. I'd be thrilled if someone found a way to make things more efficient for them so they have more free time to do more work or take off early.

My favorite boss of my entire 40+ year career in IT was a "just get the work done" kind of guy. There were many times that I'd work late into the night on a coding project, or trying to sort through a particular problem... and then pretty much just "phone it in" the next day. His motto was "get the work done and keep my boss off my @$$ and you are golden". I loved working for him...

Some car parts.

Just placed an Amazon order for the audio CD of this, the vinyl and the digital downloads (from elsewhere). Credit to @Matz for triggering my memory. To hear this after two decades of wondering whether I'd even heard such an album is amazing. For many years I thought I'd listened to an Engima album and my brain was remembering different melodies to their songs. I was content but sometimes I'd get the itch to rethink everything. I'm sure most of you think I'm completely and utterly insane at this point if you hadn't already.

Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 - g3.jpg

not my picture but I did buy a wacom cintiq pro 24. I had it for a couple of weeks but it was faulty so I had to send it back. It's a nice device for sure but I'm not sure I will replace it.

A Midori Traveler's Notebook to completely replace my iPad Pro.
So, aside from being my recent purchase, I also like to look upon this as my stepping back from digital.

Pictured below with my Lamy 2000, back in action !

Just because I can and I enjoy building PC's, I'm going to build myself a value, budget-friendly computer with a side goal of it being as quiet as I can make it.

I bought the Noctua NH-U14S CPU heat-sink+fan for it's quietness. If the case fans on the Cooler Master are too loud, I'll replace them with quieter ones. I also plan on taking the NVME SSD out of my current Alienware PC and putting this in as the main storage device. I'm fairly sure I can do that and preserve the Linux OS as is and make it work without re-installing. If not, no biggie as I can re-install it if I have to. The 1TB SSD will be for backups and extra storage as I'll partition it in half for each purpose.

Edit: Actually, I'm going to leave that m2 NVMe in the Alienware after all. I remembered that I have a spare Samsung 512GB SSD laying around not doing anything. I'll use that as the boot storage device. Then I think I'll put a vanilla install of Debian on it and then rice it with my i3wm configs.

Thought you sold the 997 Turbo? Or was that the Audi. Looks good. How long did it take to swap out?

Thanks for posting this. I love using this kind of music as a sort of BGM when I'm trying to do work. Anything else you'd suggest?
